All My Bags are Packed............Again!

That's right folks My Bags are packed again!

That's Because I'm now a Home Owner!

You heard right the "Gardener" and I are now Land Owners and we are thrilled!

Last Thursday was the most nerve wracking day of my life because we went a Auction!

We fell in love with a 1930's Bungalow, It had great original features and Just enough stuff that needs doing to it.........It was the first house that we walked into and went Wow this is it! I even have a claw foot bath! So excited!

The Auction was scary, because we wanted it so bad we would have been gutted if we missed out! There was 1 other couple bidding against us, and well we won on the day and were the last bidder, which I'm told at Auction is what you have to be!

So the last 2 weeks I have done No Stitching! Which I'm gutted about, But on the Up-side, I have 2 weeks Holiday coming up! YAY!

So I plan to do lots of stitching In My OWN Home!

So I just wanted to let you all know whats Happening! Once I have my own space again I will be back into my own routines and not living in someone else's!

Until Next Time!

Happy Stitching All!

Dont you Hate it when Life gets in the way

Gets in the way of well everything!

They say that there are 3 things that are the most stressful to deal with.

1 of those is changing Jobs, another 1 is getting Married and the 3rd Is Moving!

Well so far life as been all consumed by 1 and 3!

As most of my readers know I moved back to my home city in August last year, to take up a job as an Assistant Manager! Well that was all fine and dandy until things turned to custard! Long, long story short, I'm now the Manager of the Store with 12 staff and Have had a Full Staff turn over in a little under 4 months! Needless to say Work has been crazy busy!

My life has also been consumed by looking for a house! Real Estate Agents, Open Homes, Banks, Insurance, Auctions Stress and Sleepless nights! Living with my Father again after so many years away........well needless to say things are stressful on the home front as well!

Throw into the Mix, A car accident that writes off your car, pushes you into on coming traffic, your life flashes before your eyes, and well that pretty much wraps up my absence!

Yes life has gotten in the way of my stitching! I need to say a huge sorry to Thea, for letting her down over our SAL! I hope she can forgive me for dropping off the radar! I hope you my loyal readers can forgive my absence!

There are days when I have come home from work after doing 10 nearly 11 hrs some days......and all I want is a feed and my bed.............I really miss my stitching time. Also being close again to family esp the "Gardeners" who all live an hour away from us..........I don't have enough hours in the day!

So if you have looked at my page of Finishes, You will notice Although I have not been doing much stitching I have had some Finishes!

I have also made a new start (not that I need anymore of those)

"Harebell Fairy"
Finished October 2012
"Harebell" was one of my First that I finished. I Started her back in May 2012.......She came from WOXS 187. I did end up adding blending Filament into her wings. I also added a Border as well.

She turned out pretty good IMHO! So much so I will in the future add some more "Flower Fairies" Into the mix, she is still unframed and rolled in the draw!

When I fell back in love with stitching again, I was Introduced to HAED after seeing a ad in a cross stitch magazine, the charts that they were showing were the "7 Sins" By Marta Dahlig. So I jumped straight in and brought the full size charts for each. I also jumped in and started 2 of the BAP, "Envy" and "Lust". Then the "Minis" came along, As soon as Michelle made "Vanity" I brought it.

So My new start is Mini "Vanity" for a mini there is still alot of detail.

I also love the size of the piece, the colours are fantastic!

HAED Mini "Vanity"
"Vanity" 25th April 2013
I made a start on her late March, so this is around 3 weeks work.

"Vanity" 27th April 2013
Over the Last couple of days because I haven't been at work I have had some stitchy time.

I have made some good progress and am not bored yet at all. I have also taken a more organic approach to how I'm stitching her, I'm not doing 1 Page at a time, Instead taking it where it takes me. Also leaving the skin and face till later on.

So that's about it. Again I'm sorry for my absence. But I'm back.

I'll be back soon with details on the rest of my finishes!

Happy Stitching All

Until Next Time!

The Manbroider Missing in Action..........But found his way back!

Hey there everyone!

Well I'm sorry I haven't been around much, OK not at all for the last month or so.............

So whats been happening, well I have been resettling into my home town, starting my new job, catching up with lots of friends, old and new, and spending time with my dad, Missing the "Gardener" and the dog, Working a whole heap, learning a whole heap of new stuff! Rehearsing for a "kids show" and last but not least crashed and burned and got quite sick! Oh and I have done a small amount of stitching! Not as much as I and others would have liked, but sometimes life is busy, and I know I have been bad and not emailing people back! Thea by the time you read this you will have an Email I promise!

So Work, well It has been full on, Its so different than what I have been used to and its that, that is taken some time to get my head around, I know the business, but now its re-learning, what I know, forgetting how I did things and learning how to do it again, which is fine to a degree, but sometimes it takes awhile to get your head around............. you know!

Seeing all my friends again has been awsome, sometimes you don't know how much you miss something until you have it back again, and being involved in the theatre again is really good, (I was back less than 2 weeks and already I was co-oped back on the committee) and I have enjoyed my break don't get me wrong, but suddenly the creative juices are flowing again which is great, if anyone know how to do "Snow White" without kids or people on knees let me know!

So the "Gardener" was down over the weekend, we have been apart for 6 weeks and what happens I come down with some awful flu/cough/cold/fever thing and spend 4 days in bed! I mean "COME ON" sucks eh! So the "Gardener" spent the weekend, doing stuff alone, some gardening for my dad, spent time with the family, and allot of time away from from me! (I'm not a good when I'm sick)

So that's all the news................

So what have i been doing stitching wise, well not as much as I wanted and hoped, but i have done some!

Have you ever moved your life, Mid-Stitch! Suddenly your stitching chair is gone, the way you used to sit, the light you had etc etc........................well that's what has happened.

My Mo-Jo is still in Auckland and I'm stuck Mid-Stitch!

I have done, some but now where near a page on the "Jelina" SAL, Thea I'm so sorry for letting the team down! But I will pick up.............

Mini "Melita" Update 1
I have decided to stitch across a full row, then move down. It's Confetti heavy! Thea will attest to this! But it looks great so far, that's a small amount of forehead you can see there!

Next I have made a New Start, I know its not like I don't have a million projects on the go.........

"Air Goddess" Joan Elliott
I have started the last in the "Goddess" Series, She is stitched on 18cnt light blue Adia! I have done some sparkles as well............... which look great as well.

On a Side note, if anyone has a copy of Cross Stitch Collection 211 July 2012, I have missed it, I will pay all costs, but would love to pick this Issue up, Some how I have missed it completely and My old work didn't keep it for me, and my new one didn't stock it ( they do now) Flick me an email and we can arrange it!

So that's about it for now

I will update sooner next time.............Now I'm more settled!

Until then

Happy Stitching All!

Coming to you from a New Location!

I have been home for nearly 2 weeks now.

The Drive down was long and we struck some bad weather. We left Auckland at 4-30am and arrived in Christchurch around 10-30pm so not to bad going in the big scheme of things.

I am also into the second week of my new job, so far so good as well. All the staff are nice and friendly, but ATM I'm just watching how things are done.

On the stitching front things last week, were a little slow, my days were big and long so I didn't get much done, but some progress is better than none.

So I continued to work on "Winter Goddess"

"Winter Goddess" Before
"Winter Goddess" 12th August
"Winter Goddess" Flowers Up Close
So HAED had a Sale I only brought 1 chart I was very restrained

"Ruby" by Rachel Anderson
Its the full size version of Birthstone "Ruby" I love all the reds, and her face looks so serene.

I also have some bad news, there is a big craft store directly opposite 1 of the stores I am in, there goes my craft budget.

Last up I have also made a start on my "Jelina" SAL that I am doing with Thea, so here is a small picture until the update next month on the 11th

"Jelina Melita" Day 1
Sorry its a bit blurry. but you get the jist.

So that's all to report! More next time.

Take Care all.

Happy Stitching!

All My Bags are packed............

So we have packed up the car, ready for the trip south tomorrow! I'm excited now!

Although its been quite an emotional week.

I finished work on Friday after a very busy week. We had my leaving dinner/drinks on Wednesday night and It was a great night, low key with all my great work friends.

I also got some goodies!

The story behind my goodies is, I'm  a big curry fan and have a favorite Indian Restaurant here in Auckland, Some of us went there for my Birthday back in February and I passed comment on how much I loved the serving dishes. So it was decided there and then that's what I was getting, however finding these dishes in Auckland I hear is kinda hard. But with some help from another store they succeeded

So I received 2 Serving dishes and 1 rice bowel are they cool or what! If anyone knows the proper names I would love to know. In the first pic there is also some jumbo coffee cups that's because at work I always used my friends soup mug for my coffee so as a parting gift that's what I got as well!

Now when ever anyone leaves my work, we always have a morning tea on the last day! Now normally we only use the small round table however on Friday I had to break out the trestle table!

Last Day Feed!
Also I really didn't get all that much work done! However I did have a fantastic day and it was a great finish for this chapter! I will miss all my work friends and I'm looking forward to making new ones!

So aside from leaving work what else have been up to, Stitching wise well I spent the week working on "Harebell Fairy"

"Harebell Fairy" Before
"Harebell Fairy" 29th July
For her wings I have decided to add some bling, so with each colour in them I'm adding 1 strand of blending filament to give her a small sparkle

Wing Bling
If you look close you can see some sparkle! BTW that arm was a nightmare! I just could not count for the life of me! So that arm was done then ripped out and done again! Then Ripped out and done for a third time! I mean COME ON! So that's why on Sunday afternoon I swapped projects.

"Winter Goddess" Before
"Winter Goddess" July 30th 2012
I will work on her for the rest of the week, however with spending a day traveling and then recovering, I'm not sure how much stitching after today I will be able to get done.

I also forgot to show you guys what I picked for the HAED reward programme. So this time around I was able to send Michele 2 charts, because I never put in "Butterflies Galore" which I finished last year and only got around to taking a photo of recently, and "Sweet Selina" Which I finished in February.

I picked 2 QS

QS "Nina" By Hannah Lynn
QS "Peridot" By Rachel Anderson
I picked the last one because I'm enjoying "Pearl" so much.

Whew that was a jumbo post, Well I do have to keep you guys going while I'm away! Also until I get back online as well! "The Gardener" has said we can buy me a new laptop when we get there!

Right I better go do me some housework!

I hope you guys are all well!

Take Care!

Happy Stitching!
