The Manbroider Missing in Action..........But found his way back!

Hey there everyone!

Well I'm sorry I haven't been around much, OK not at all for the last month or so.............

So whats been happening, well I have been resettling into my home town, starting my new job, catching up with lots of friends, old and new, and spending time with my dad, Missing the "Gardener" and the dog, Working a whole heap, learning a whole heap of new stuff! Rehearsing for a "kids show" and last but not least crashed and burned and got quite sick! Oh and I have done a small amount of stitching! Not as much as I and others would have liked, but sometimes life is busy, and I know I have been bad and not emailing people back! Thea by the time you read this you will have an Email I promise!

So Work, well It has been full on, Its so different than what I have been used to and its that, that is taken some time to get my head around, I know the business, but now its re-learning, what I know, forgetting how I did things and learning how to do it again, which is fine to a degree, but sometimes it takes awhile to get your head around............. you know!

Seeing all my friends again has been awsome, sometimes you don't know how much you miss something until you have it back again, and being involved in the theatre again is really good, (I was back less than 2 weeks and already I was co-oped back on the committee) and I have enjoyed my break don't get me wrong, but suddenly the creative juices are flowing again which is great, if anyone know how to do "Snow White" without kids or people on knees let me know!

So the "Gardener" was down over the weekend, we have been apart for 6 weeks and what happens I come down with some awful flu/cough/cold/fever thing and spend 4 days in bed! I mean "COME ON" sucks eh! So the "Gardener" spent the weekend, doing stuff alone, some gardening for my dad, spent time with the family, and allot of time away from from me! (I'm not a good when I'm sick)

So that's all the news................

So what have i been doing stitching wise, well not as much as I wanted and hoped, but i have done some!

Have you ever moved your life, Mid-Stitch! Suddenly your stitching chair is gone, the way you used to sit, the light you had etc etc........................well that's what has happened.

My Mo-Jo is still in Auckland and I'm stuck Mid-Stitch!

I have done, some but now where near a page on the "Jelina" SAL, Thea I'm so sorry for letting the team down! But I will pick up.............

Mini "Melita" Update 1
I have decided to stitch across a full row, then move down. It's Confetti heavy! Thea will attest to this! But it looks great so far, that's a small amount of forehead you can see there!

Next I have made a New Start, I know its not like I don't have a million projects on the go.........

"Air Goddess" Joan Elliott
I have started the last in the "Goddess" Series, She is stitched on 18cnt light blue Adia! I have done some sparkles as well............... which look great as well.

On a Side note, if anyone has a copy of Cross Stitch Collection 211 July 2012, I have missed it, I will pay all costs, but would love to pick this Issue up, Some how I have missed it completely and My old work didn't keep it for me, and my new one didn't stock it ( they do now) Flick me an email and we can arrange it!

So that's about it for now

I will update sooner next time.............Now I'm more settled!

Until then

Happy Stitching All!

Think your progress looks great even with such a hectic schedule. I can have a look see in my newsagent today if they still have that issue (as sometimes they have one or two left over) I will let you know later if I manage to pick it up. Hope you're feeling better.

I'm just glad you're ok as I was getting more than a bit worried about you, I hope you're feeling better now and Melita looks lush. I totally agree for such little designs they are both heavy on the confetti as I'm finding Lucia's hair a total nightmare! I'm doing my post at the moment and will link it up with this one.... looks like you've got some catching up to do but I've got no doubt you'll catch in no time because you're a stitching star!

As always your stitching is beautiful. I can't wait to see more of both the designs :-)

Um... if you're serious about Snow White, you could do what we did IF you have a good set designer/builder - we added a front piece full stage length and 2/3rds width and about two feet or so taller. All the 'main' actors stood on that and the dwarves were always behind it on the regular stage. They had 'boots' that were a little above knee level, sewn on their pants and where dwarf feet would have been was always hidden by set pieces. So you couldn't tell. Only works if your audience is on one level - a balcony gives it away. They do look like they have no knees and walk a bit oddly, which is okay for dwarves, I guess! The audience didn't seem to mind.

Whew, that was a long comment! I love your stitching!!!
